King Arthur Flour Celebrates Fall with Second Annual Bakers' Harvest Festival in Norwich

Conference, Tasting Supper & Festival Feature Inspiration For Fall Baking

King Arthur Flour invites the public to attend its second annual Bakers' Harvest Festival at the company's flagship campus in Norwich, VT The public celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 7.

"Last year's Harvest Festival was a huge hit with our customers," says John Tunnicliffe, director of the company’s store, bakery/café, and baking education center. "Education center director Susan Miller has worked hard to create a really terrific lineup for our Bakers’ Harvest Conference. The whole weekend promises to be a fun time, with something for every member of the family."

The celebration will include hands-on baking education; interactive activities for kids and adults, and our live professional baking competition – “Scratched” – featuring Jeffrey Hamelman from the Bakery, Robyn Sargent from the Baking Education Center, and Susan Reid from the famed King Arthur Flour test kitchen.

The festival will also feature two live performances by Vermont's own singer/songwriter Jon Gailmor.

Leading up to the public festivities, on September 4 and 5, King Arthur Flour will host a baking education conference as well as a tasting supper for pre-registered attendees. The conference features hands-on classes and seminars with King Arthur Flour's experts and special guest instructors, including Gesine Bullock-Prado and James MacGuire, former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier, author Richard Miscovich, and more.

The tasting supper, a fundraiser to benefit Hunger Free Vermont, is scheduled for Friday, September 5. Diners will savor specialties from the Upper Valley's most popular restaurants, enjoy a glass of wine or local brew, celebrate fresh foods, and – the icing on the cake – help combat hunger in Vermont.
