Baked, not fried —
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Prepare the batter as directed, and spoon it into the wells of a standard doughnut pan, filling each well about two-thirds full.
- Bake the doughnuts for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of one comes out clean.
- To make mini doughnuts, fill the wells of a mini doughnut pan about two-thirds full, and bake for 7 to 10 minutes. While still warm, roll the doughnuts in butter and the topping mix; or add your favorite glaze instead.
Yield: 12 to 14 standard doughnuts, or about 3 dozen mini doughnuts.
