Bacon Horseradish Spread

in quick and easy whole grain dairy free gluten free overnight guaranteed classic

Author: Charlotte Bothe

This spread recipe is inspired by a version made at our King Arthur Flour Café in Norwich, Vermont. Its creaminess and slight kick make it a wonderful complement to pumpernickel bread (try our Pumpernickel Boule recipe). But if you're a bacon or horseradish fan, you'll likely want to spread it onto everything you can.

At a glance

About 2 cups.

Choose your measure:

  • 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

  2. Stir in the sour cream, then the remaining ingredients.
  3. Spoon into a bowl, and garnish with a bit of chopped cooked bacon, if desired.

  5. Yield: about 2 cups.
