Cider-Cinnamon Spread Recipe

The recipe for this tasty spread/dip comes from the food team at our retail store's café. They prepare and sell it in containers, and also offer it as a tasty accompaniment to toast on our breakfast menu. We think it adds a wonderful flavor dimension when served alongside cinnamon-sugar pita chips — or atop No-Knead Harvest Bread, as pictured above.

Ingredients

Choose your measure:

  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese; low-fat is fine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons boiled cider

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese until it's light and airy.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and beat until well incorporated.
  3. Serve with toast, pita chips, apple slices, or whatever inspires you!
  4. Yield: about 2 cups. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
