Enjoy this tasty spread on top of a thick slice of traditional Slovak Paska bread. Counting calories? Make a lighter version with Neufchatel cheese and nonfat sour cream.

Ingredients

Choose your measure:

  • 3/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup each diced dried apricots (or golden raisins) and slivered almonds, optional

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese and butter together until well blended and creamy.
  2. Blend in the sour cream and sugar, mixing well. Stir in golden raisins and slivered almonds, if desired.
  3. Chill well before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  4. Yield: 1 1/2 cups (without fruit and nuts).
