Spicy Garlic Nuts

Looking for a spicy snack that can be out of the oven and on the table in less than 30 minutes? Combine flavorful garlic oil with nuts and spices, toss well and bake. It's as easy as can be. Set out a big bowl and let your family and friends munch away, this snack is hard to resist. These nuts also make great stocking stuffers when packaged in a pretty bag or give away pan. A spicy way to start Christmas Day, or any day of the year.
Ingredients
- 2 cups walnut pieces
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 2 tablespoons Boyajian Garlic Oil
- 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 250°F. Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Place all nuts in a large bowl and toss well to combine.
- Pour the garlic oil and Worcestershire sauce over the nuts and toss to coat. Mix the dry spices in a separate small bowl and sprinkle evenly over the oiled nuts. Again toss well to coat. Use a silcone spatula to scrape the bottom of the bowl so that there are no pockets of oil.
- Spread the coated nuts on the parchment lined pan. Bake the nuts for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and stir well with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the nuts are mostly dry to the touch. They will continue to dry as they cool, so be careful to not overbake.
- Remove nuts from oven and let cool on baking sheet. Sprinkle with additional salt if desired and serve. Store any leftovers airtight at room temperature.

Extended family loved this mix last year. Plan to make more this year but trying to decide how far in advance I can prepare and how to store? My nephew requested more as his DIY gift! These should keep well for several weeks when stored in an airtight container at cool, room temperature. Hope this helps! Mollie@KAF
nice flavor and texture. so easy to make.
These remind me of the nut part of my homemade Chex mix. Very tasty and quick to put together. I didn't have garlic oil so I used plain oil and added a little garlic powder.
I just made a quadruple batch of these to give as Christmas gifts. Yummy! I didn't have the Garlic Oil offered for sale by King Arthur, but did find some that was totally acceptable at an Asian supermarket, Also, I used Penzey's Smoked Spanish Paprika and Ancho Chile, which gave the mix a really nice zip. Not too spicy, but flavorful. I think my friends wil enjoy them.
I made this exactly as described- so easy, so quick, and a lovely gift (packaged in holiday gift bags) to have on hand for unexpected holiday guests!
Without trying it yet, I think it will be a wonderful addition to our Christmas snack menu. We always include so many sweets but forget the healthy snacks. Thanks for this one......
